Danzan Ryu

Danzan Ryu Jujitsu was founded by Prof. H. Okazaki after extensive personal study and accomplishment in Judo, Jujitsu, Hawaiian Lomi, Kung Fu, boxing, Filipino fighting and other fighting techniques. Prof. Okazaki assembled a systematic representation of the essential principles of Japanese jujitsu. Danzan Ryu is a complete jujitsu system including both fighting and healing techniques as was common in ancient times. Fighting techniques include those for falling safely, hand techniques, throwing techniques, grappling techniques, combination techniques, finishing techniques and defenses against armed opponents. Resuscitation techniques include massage, and traditional and modern hands on treatments for headache, locked diaphragm and other commonly occurring injuries.

Students of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu develop personal skills of self defense by a combination of physical training and mental focus. The study of jujitsu leads to higher levels of self confidence and health through the practice of confrontation in a controlled environment.. Professor H. S. Okazaki, the founder of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, wrote "The primary objective of the practice of Jujitsu is the perfection of character..." A student who obtains proficiency in the techniques of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu will have the physical and emotional strength to appropriately respond to any threat from a mild confrontation to a life threatening situation.
